We are excited to offer a weekly Tech Help program this summer!

Digital literacy professor and part-time Lenox resident Dr. Sandra Markus will be available to meet one-on-one with patrons who need technology assistance, including:

  • Computer basics (including word processing)
  • Conducting Internet searches
  • Downloading and saving information
  • Email basics
  • Zoom basics
  • Device use and management (including iPhones, iPads, Kindles, and tablets)
  • Using library resources (including Libby and Kanopy)
  • Social media (including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest)

The Tech Help program will be available from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on the following dates:

  • Tuesday, July 11
  • Tuesday, July 18
  • Thursday, July 27
  • Thursday, August 3
  • Thursday, August 17
  • Thursday, August 24

Patrons may walk-in or call the Library (413-637-0197) to reserve a ½ hour appointment with Dr. Markus; reservations are encouraged. Please bring any necessary devices, passwords, and charging cables.

Dr. Sandra Markus is a Professor in the Fashion Design department at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, where she has taught for over 25 years. She holds a doctorate in technology from Columbia University, and her dissertation, Through the Eye of the Needle: Craftivism as an Emerging Mode of Civic Engagement and Cultural Participation (2019), examined the political expression and engagement of women in three offline and online craftivist groups.

During the summer she hosts sewing retreats @inthecompanyofmakers in Massachusetts for makers of all ages. When not in front of a computer, you can find her stitching.
