In my quest for hidden treasures amongst the special collections at the Library, I discovered a cache of vintage post cards. By narrowing the subjects depicted to Lenox areas of interest, I gathered 84(!) for display in the the glass case just outside the Special Collections Room.
[There were even more, but I ran out of room in the case.]
Also on display in the Dome Room is a collection of vintage Christmas postcards, most with postmarks dating to just before World War I. I was struck by the use of robin’s egg blue and pink tints, as well as the depiction of roses and forget-me-nots. Funny how fashions can change, even in the greeting card industry!
