1,000 Books Before Kindergarten
Dear Parents/Caregivers:
We invite you to participate in this free program that encourages you to read 1,000 books with your child before he or she starts kindergarten!
Does this sound difficult? Let us make it simple: if you read just 1 book every night, you will have read 365 books in 1 year. That is 730 books in 2 years and 1,095 books in 3 years! If you consider that most children start kindergarten at around 5 years of age, you have more time than you think.
The concept is simple, the rewards are priceless. Read a book (any book) every day to your newborn, infant, and/or toddler – and yes, you can repeat books!
Keep reading to learn more about the program and how the Lenox Library can help you reach 1,000 books before kindergarten!

- Keep track of the books that you read with your child. Use one of the convenient reading log sheets provided, or make a record of what you read in a notebook.
